TransAction original demo tape
TransAction live recordings
Before the pop tunes, we'd always play some jazz!!!
TransAction II demo tape
This was the follow-up band the next year
Not TransAction but kind of related -- for those who know what it is.
TransAction was a band formed by my friend Jon Negus and made up of many of my other high school friends. We were just a bunch of skinny teenagers playing pop tunes in bars so we could save up money for college.
In the photo to the left are (from left to right): myself (drums), Jon Negus (band leader, sax, vocals), Dan Krimm (bass), Kris Bergren (vocals, flute), Phil LaBar (keyboards, trumpet) and Eric Swartzentruber (lead trumpet, even though he's holding a bari horn).
Not pictured is Chad Edwards who played keyboards at many of the gigs and on some of the recordings, including the live recordings; and Tom Stange, who played tenor sax on the original TransAction demo.
You can check out those recordings by clicking on the links to the left. The first three tunes are from the demo tape of the original band (i.e., the first year). The next three are live recordings of the original band (we often played jazz tunes during the opening set before launching into the pop songs). The next three tunes are from the demo tape of TransAction II (i.e., the second year). And the final tune isn't by TransAction but it's one of Jon's original compositions and includes Eric Swartzentruber on trumpet, so the people involved are all related to TransAction.
